About us

Our Mission

Quicksilver Track Club, Inc. (QTC)  is a 501 c 3 nonprofit that uses the lure of track and field to expose youth between the ages of 7-19 to motivational, academic, and personal growth programs.  QTC’s mission is to produce well-rounded citizens prepared to compete not just in athletics but in life successfully. Our program endeavors to ensure that each athlete we serve has the option to attend a college or university of their choosing and that through athletic and academic excellence, the financial burden for such dreams can be eliminated. We want to be the connecting link between students and the universities they wish to attend.

Saddened by the astounding disparities in graduation rates among lower-income minorities, the late Ernest L. Dixon formed Quicksilver Track Club in 1981 as a means for children, ages 9-18 from working poor households residing in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, to discover their mental ability through perfecting physical ability. Twenty-eight (28) years later, we continue in this vision by providing elite sports programming and competition opportunities that result in our students aiming high, transforming their dreams of college into reality, and realizing the rich rewards that come from the pursuit of educational excellence. Since its inception, the organization has provided boys and girls with opportunities to learn, travel, and compete throughout the nation and abroad.
